Course Overview
This 3-hour intermediate CE course is designed to help insurance claims adjusters, public adjusters, agents, and CSRs develop a deeper working knowledge of the ISO Homeowners Policy HO-3 so they can determine what is covered and what is not in real claim situations. It focuses on understanding what the homeowners policy is intended to cover, how coverage is structured, and why certain losses fall inside or outside the policy’s protection.
What You Will Learn
You will learn how to navigate the policy contract to locate exclusions, limitations, and conditions, and how some excluded exposures may be addressed through endorsements or separate policies. The course uses customer claim scenario case studies applying standard ISO HO-3 language to illustrate how coverage is applied, how exclusions and limitations are considered, and how those details drive coverage or denial decisions.
